Historic Preservation Board Vacancy - March 16, 2017, Anacortes WA – The City of Anacortes is seeking interested residents to fill a vacancy on the Anacortes Historic Preservation Board. The term of this position will run through December 31, 2019.
Applicants must reside in Anacortes and have demonstrated interest and competence in historic preservation. The major responsibility of the Historic Preservation Board is to identify and actively encourage the conservation of the City of Anacortes’ historic assets by maintaining a register of historic places; raising community awareness of historic properties; and serving as a resource in matters of historic planning and preservation.
A background in history, architecture, archaeology, law, engineering or real estate is helpful. Must be able to attend regular monthly meetings and participate in preservation activities. The board consists of five members that meet the second Tuesday of each month at 4:00 pm at the Anacortes Museum Research Library, 1305 8th Street.
