New Hours and New Procedures for Recycling TVs and Computers. The Anacortes Aktion Club recycles Computers, TVs, Computer Monitors, Laptops, Tablet Computers, E-Readers (like Kindle) and Portable DVD Players for FREE for the State of Washington E-Cycle Program on the 2nd Saturday of the month from 1000-1200 at the Port of Anacortes’ Web Locker #36, at Seafarer’s Way and R. The City has contracted with Larry Brown Construction, Inc. to replace the water main on M Avenue from 32nd to 35th Streets.

August 11, 2017 - UPCOMING EMERGENCY SANITARY SEWER IMPROVEMENT PROJECT IN ALLEY BETWEEN HARTFORD AND JACKSON BETWEEN W. 2ND AND WEST 3RD STREETS. - Due to a recent sewer main failure the City is moving forward with an emergency sewer main replacement project. The project will replace approximately 380 feet of sewer main along the easterly half of the alley between West 2nd Street and West 3rd Street running from Jackson Avenue to Hartford Avenue.

Approximately 2000 LF of water main will be replaced during this project.

PRESS RELEASE - Sanitary Sewer Inflow and Infiltration Reduction program

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - RE: 2017 Sanitary Sewer Inflow and Infiltration Reduction program
March 9, 2017 - Anacortes, WA – The City of Anacortes Public Works Department is moving forward with the 2017 City’s Sanitary Sewer Inflow and Infiltration Reduction program. Construction is scheduled to begin Monday, March 13. The contractor will have 45 working days to complete the project. Construction will typically be from 7 am to 7 pm, Monday through Friday, although construction may be allowed during weekends and in the evening hours if necessary. During construction, there will be traffic detours and road closures to allow for the work.

2017 Solid Waste Schedule
New Year’s Day observed:  There will be no garbage service on Monday, January 2nd, 2017. We will collect Monday and Tuesday customers on Tuesday, January 3rd, 2017.
Please have your garbage totes out for pick up by 7:00 a.m.
Extra garbage must be placed in city pre-paid bags.
Waste Management will follow our schedule for recycling and yard waste pickup.

Seattle Seahawks 12th Fan Rally Bus Comes to Anacortes Friday, June 23

12th Fan Seattle Seahawks Rally bus will make a stop at Anacortes High School’s Seahawk Stadium on Friday, June 23 at 12:30 p.m. Join Mayor Laurie Gere, Superintendent Mark Wenzel, students, staff and community members as the Seattle Seahawks raise the 12 Flag. This event is free and open to the public, and includes Blitz, performances by the Sea Gals and Blue Thunder, and Q&A with players.
