Anacortes Public Works Department - 2017 M Avenue Waterline Replacement Project from 32nd to 35th Street
August 28, 2017 - Anacortes, WA – The City of Anacortes Public Works Department is moving forward with the 2017 M Waterline Replacement Project as part of the City’s waterline replacement program. The City has contracted with Larry Brown Construction, Inc. to replace the water main on M Avenue from 32nd to 35th Streets.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - Voluntary Water Conservation August 18, 2016, Anacortes, WA - Due to seasonal low water flow conditions in the Skagit River, the City of Anacortes and Skagit Public Utility District water customers are being asked to reduce their water usage by 10 percent voluntarily.
August 11, 2017 - UPCOMING EMERGENCY SANITARY SEWER IMPROVEMENT PROJECT IN ALLEY BETWEEN HARTFORD AND JACKSON BETWEEN W. 2ND AND WEST 3RD STREETS. - Due to a recent sewer main failure the City is moving forward with an emergency sewer main replacement project. The project will replace approximately 380 feet of sewer main along the easterly half of the alley between West 2nd Street and West 3rd Street running from Jackson Avenue to Hartford Avenue.
July 27, 2017 Anacortes, WA -The City of Anacortes is seeking comments on proposed updates to the City’s critical areas regulations. The critical areas regulations regulate certain activities and development in and near wetlands, streams, fish & wildlife habitat conservation areas, geologically hazardous areas, frequently flooded areas, and critical aquifer recharge areas.

The project will include replacing water mains on “M” Avenue from 10th to 12th Streets, at the 14th Street and “M” Avenue intersection, on 20th Street from “L” to “M” Avenue and from 32nd to 35th Streets on “M” Avenue. Approximately 2000 LF of water main will be replaced during this project.

April 27, 2017, Anacortes, WA - The Anacortes Community Task Force will be hosting a community stakeholder meeting on May 16, 2017 at 7pm in the Anacortes City Council Chambers at 904 6th St. In 2013, the Anacortes Community Task Force formed in response to concerns about the negative effects of drugs and alcohol in our community.
The City has contracted with Colacurcio Brothers to repave multiple streets at a part of the 2017 Asphalt Overlay Project. The project will repave the following road sections:
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - RE: 2017 Sanitary Sewer Inflow and Infiltration Reduction program
March 9, 2017 - Anacortes, WA – The City of Anacortes Public Works Department is moving forward with the 2017 City’s Sanitary Sewer Inflow and Infiltration Reduction program. Construction is scheduled to begin Monday, March 13. The contractor will have 45 working days to complete the project. Construction will typically be from 7 am to 7 pm, Monday through Friday, although construction may be allowed during weekends and in the evening hours if necessary. During construction, there will be traffic detours and road closures to allow for the work.
