The Arts Commission is an advisory board to the City Council pertaining to public arts and culture. The Anacortes Arts Commission supports excellence, vitality, diversity, and accessibility of the arts as essential to the quality of life for all Fidalgo and Guemes Island residents by fostering a community cultural vision through the acquisition, placement and maintenance of public art and by promoting participation, innovation and partnership in all the performing, visual literary arts.
Members of the public are welcome to attend meetings!
Authorizing Resolution and Overview
The Anacortes Arts Commission is created by Ordinance 2716 found here.
There are no less than seven and no more than nine Commissioners appointed for a term of three years. The Commission may include one non-voting member who is a student of the Anacortes School District at the time of appointment and throughout their term. The student will be appointed for a term of one year.

Meetings are held on the Second Wednesday of every month at 4PM at the Anacortes City Hall (Address: 904 Sixth Street, Anacortes, WA 98221).
