The Anacortes Museum is in the historic Carnegie Library Building at 1305 8th Street in the City of Anacortes, located in the homeland of the Samish People. On exhibit are interpretive panels containing photos and information created collaboratively with Samish representatives. These are displayed near a case showing a cedar bark rain hat, adze blades and projectile points, and stone mortar and maul. The Anacortes Museum Collection is primarily stored at this location, and an online catalog can be searched for photographs, artifacts and books relating to the people of the Samish Indian Nation. The Museum’s research files are accessible to museum visitors; and research visits can be pre-arranged by phoning the museum at (360) 293-1915 or emailing coa.museum@cityofanacortes.org
