Boys Basketball

The Boys Recreational Youth Basketball League is run through the Anacortes Parks and Recreation Department. This league encourages fun, sportsmanship, equal participation and skill development. All players are required to play in the grade they are in at the time of registration. Teams will be formed by the parks and recreation staff. Teams may not be the same as the previous basketball season. Late registrations will be taken if space is available.

Games

Games are generally played on Saturday’s starting mid-January and can go until mid-March. Games and practices are held in local Anacortes Elementary, Middle, and High Schools. To maximize fun and skill development, rules will be modified and baskets lowered for younger grade divisions.

We Need Coaches

Volunteer coaches are required to make this a successful program. All coaches must complete the required paperwork, which includes a background check. Coaches must comply with the Code of Ethics established by the National Alliance for Youth Sports. Call or email league coordinator Travis Anderson at travisa@cityofanacortes.org or call 360-293-1918 if you would like to coach or have questions. Volunteer Coaches are what make this league possible. (We have numerous resources and we can train you to coach.)

Participant Equipment Needed

All participants will receive a team shirt, which is included with their registration fee. Players need to provide their own sweats or shorts and proper athletic shoes, with non-marking soles.
