Pickett Pocket Park [COMPLETED]
Pickett Pocket Park, is named after former City Council woman Erica Pickett to honor her years of service and dedication to parks and green space in Anacortes. Located near 22nd and Commercial between Penguin Coffee and Jimmy Johns, this pocket park is a comfortable public gathering space. It is the first park in Anacortes with all solar lighting and boasts five trees and landscaping in its small footprint. Thanks to our partners in this project, the Anacortes Parks Foundation, the Kiwanis Noon Club, Strandberg Construction and the Anacortes Public Works Department.

Grand View Cemetery Expansion [COMPLETED]
The City is beginning the expansion of Grand View Cemetery in the next month. The work includes poplar tree removal and other tree clearing near Hill Crest Drive to build a stormwater detention pond and make road repairs within the cemetery. Large trees at the south end of the expansion will be conserved. The reason for this work is that Grand View is running out of available cemetery lots. The clearing work done this fall and winter will make way for expanding the cemetery and adding over 150 new trees in 2021. Please contact Anacortes Parks and Recreation for more information.
