[ARCHIVED] City road work update

The waterline replacements on Sugarloaf Street and Piper Circle are complete. The paving of Sugarloaf began yesterday and should be completed today.

The work to remove the existing road surface on Piper Circle is scheduled for June 4.  Once the road surface has been removed the contractor is estimating the reshaping of the Piper Circle and the installation of the new asphalt be completed the later part of June.

Additional work had been added to replace approximately 700 feet of failing water main on Oakes Avenue from Baltimore to A avenues.  This work will begin next Tuesday, May 29. For those curious, we are not planning to disturb the new asphalt that WSDOT has recently installed.  The contractor will be renewing waters services on both sides of Oakes so there is some risk involved. We will make every effort possible to prevent any disturbance to the newly paved road.

The contractor has removed the existing deteriorated road surface at the 25th Street and J Avenue cul-de-sac. Currently, the contractor is reshaping and preparing the road for new asphalt. Depending on the local paving schedules we are estimating the new asphalt could be installed next week sometime.
