News Flash

Parks and Recreation staff have been working diligently on the Federal, State and Local permits required to repair the winter storm damage along the trail. We appreciate the community’s patience and all the support we have received to get this work done. We are optimistic we will be able to begin soon, but please know we are following all required steps in order to perform the necessary trail maintenance.

We would like to thank the Anacortes High School Green Club for working with us on plant inventorying this spring, and we look forward to working with them this fall as we move forward with more native plant installations.

Also, thank you to the 47 members of the community who joined Fidalgo Island Naturalist Denise Crowe and Parks & Rec Staffer Bob Vaux on three free community GCT hikes this spring. The conversations were poignant and the interest in the trail’s future was received.
