[ARCHIVED] Mail Theft Cases in Anacortes

A significant amount of stolen mail was located and turned in to the Anacortes Police Department this morning.  The recovered mail is being sorted through and all salvageable pieces will be turned over to the US Post Office to be re-delivered.  Multiple empty Amazon mailing packages were also amongst the mail.  If you discover that you are missing mail and have any home security system (cameras/Ring system, etc.)  APD is asking you to review overnight footage that might help us identify the subjects/vehicle involved in the thefts.
Please call the non-emergency dispatch line at (360) 428-3211 to speak with an officer if you have relevant video surveillance of mail theft and reference case number 20-A06715.
This is also a good opportunity to remind Anacortes residents to secure your mail in a locked box when possible and retrieve your mail and packages as soon as possible after delivery to prevent theft incidents.
