Posted on: August 16, 2021[ARCHIVED] 2021 Asphalt Overlay Project

The City has contracted with Lakeside Industries, Inc. to repave the following streets:
• 24th Street - from M Avenue to Commercial Avenue
• 41st Street - from A Avenue to H Avenue
• Glasgow Way - From SR 20 to Cypress Drive at the top of the hill
The contractor is expected to begin with pavement grinding August 19. Construction for this project is expected to take approximately seven weeks.
The exact schedule of construction activities will be weather dependent and delays in the schedule may occur. Additionally, as this project includes multiple roadways in various parts of town, construction may not occur in a neighborhood on consecutive days from beginning to end.
During construction there will be periods of no parking on streets along the entire stretch of the project roadways.
No parking restrictions on 41st Street as a result of the paving project will be coordinated so as to avoid overlapping with neighborhood access limitations resulting from the upcoming adjoining slurry seal project. Also the paving project will be coordinated with the water line replacement project currently happening on 24th Street.
Traffic control will be in place to allow for access to neighborhood and safety of the workers.
The project will involve grinding existing pavement, pavement repairs, placement of new asphalt, utility lid adjustments and pavement striping.
Thank you in advance for your patience and cooperation while we make these necessary improvements to the roadway.
